I love this time of year. Changing colors in the landscape, the sound of rustling leaves in the evening breeze, and an enhanced spirit of kindness for one another. It truly seems like the culture of the community changes as we see houses being lit up by beautiful colored bulb arrangements and lawn art. School and Church programs show off the talent every child seems to magically spawn for the programs and plays that are sure to create a “star” within every young performer. Yes, I truly love this time of year.
Culture is present in every business, home, church and community; and a positive culture is what it takes to succeed at any of these. No one likes to walk into any environment where the team or family have a look and attitude like they’ve been sucking on lemons. At ECMC, a positive culture is the foundation we build upon, and empathy is the mortar.
Because we are community, we understand and proudly declare we aNeighbors Caring for Neighbors. With this statement we want to make certain the communities we serve in Edwards County realize whose Medical Center this is. The answer is clear, and aligns with the new year 2020, which we feel is in perfect alignment with our “Vision 2020” initiative: Yours, Ours, and My ECMC.
When you think of our hospital and clinic, remember this YOUR Medical Center; and when you reflect on our community, it is OUR Medical Center; and when you look in the mirror, you can proudly say to yourself this is MY Medical Center. What we have here is special and every employee of your Medical Center is proud to serve you with empathy and a commitment “to provide compassionate, world class healthcare close to home.”
Have a wonderful, safe and healthy holiday season from all of us at your Edwards County Medical Center.
