Prayer of Auxiliary
Almighty God and Heavenly Father of Mankind, bless we pray thee, our endeavors in those hospitals in which we strive to bring comfort and hope to all who are in distress of mind or body.
 
Guide us so that we may use the privilege given us to help the aged, the ill and very young- with generosity, with discretion and with gentleness.
 
Give us the strength to labor diligently, the courage to think and to speak with clarity and conviction but without prejudice or pride.
 
Grant us we beseech Thee both wisdom and humility in directing our united efforts to do for others only as Thou would have us do.
 
Amen
How to Join the Auxiliary
The Auxiliary offers a wonderful opportunity to meet others in the community who share a similar interest in community service and welfare.
As a member, you will form new friendships while making a difference in the community, the health of its citizens, and enrichment of the hospital that serves them.
 
As a tight-knit group of individuals, the Auxiliary performs a social role in the community as well as raising money for equipment and scholarships for the Edwards County Hospital. Men and women in the community are members of the Auxiliary.
 
Membership dues are a nominal amount, and there is no pressure to be a more active member unless one wants to do so. Joining the Auxiliary is a way to give back to support the community and its community hospital.

Medical Education Scholarship- EMT, CNA, CMA, Paramedic, Med Tech
Selection of recipients is based on applicant's determination to further his or her education. Final selection is made by the scholarship committee.
 
1. Applicant must be accepted into a healthcare program before scholarship is granted.
 
2. Edwards County Hospital Auxiliary will grant scholarships in any field of medicine. Applicant must be a citizen of Edwards County. It doesn't matter how many other scholarships applicant receives. Medical Fields - CNA, CMA, PT Assistant, Lab Tech, Dietary, EMT and Paramedic Training.
 
3. Hospital employees will have first consideration.
 
4. The class to be attended need not be in Kansas but must be a recognized and approved program.
 
5. The employee must be employed at Edwards County at least one (1) year after the program is finished.
 
6. Check with employer to see if they will pay for the class before applying.
 
7. Scholarships will be given in January and August and only two (2) at a time.
 
8. Applicants can only receive one (1) scholarship a year. 
Medical Educational Scholarships- Nursing, Pre-Med, Doctor
Selection of recipients is based on applicant's determination to further his or her education. Final selection is made by the scholarship committee.
 
1. Applicant must be accepted in a healthcare professional curriculum before scholarship is granted.
 
2. Edwards County Hospital Auxiliary will grant scholarships in any field of medicine. We will pay for a total of six (6) semesters depending on the circumstances. Applicant must be a citizen of Edwards County. It doesn't matter how many other scholarships applicant receives.
 
3. Applicant must maintain a 3.0 or above grade point average. Grades will be checked after each semester. Hospital employees will have first consideration.
 
4. The school to be attended need not be a Kansas institution, but it must be accredited or recognized as an approved program.
 
5. We will only award two (2) scholarships unless no others apply for Medical Education Scholarship Criteria-Other. Then we will award four (4).
 
6. Recipient can only have one (1) scholarship a year.
 
7. A copy of the number of hours applicant enrolled in is required for each application.

Donations / Memorials
The Edwards County Hospital Auxiliary is a nonprofit organization whose purpose is to raise funds to help support better health care services for our local community. The dollars we raise go toward the purchase of new equipment for departments in our hospital. They also provide scholarships for local students who plan to work in a health-related field.
 
The Auxiliary is an excellent way to make a contribution to the hospital equipment fund while honoring a deceased family member or friend, or honoring and paying tribute to a living person. All memorial contributions are designated to purchase essential medical equipment for the hospital and are fully tax deductible.
